About ClearCents

ClearCents exists for one reason: most personal finance content is either too vague to act on or buried under sales pitches. We publish short, specific answers to the money questions people actually search for — and free calculators that show the math instead of hiding it.

What we cover

Credit scores and credit cards, loans and mortgages, debt payoff, saving and banking, budgeting, and retirement basics. Every guide targets one question and answers it directly.

How we keep things accurate

We base guides on publicly documented rules from sources like the IRS, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and major credit bureaus, and we date each guide so you can see when it was last reviewed. That said, financial rules, rates, and limits change constantly — so we flag time-sensitive numbers and always recommend verifying with the official source before you act. If you spot something outdated, we want to fix it.

What we are not

ClearCents is an educational publisher, not a financial advisor, lender, broker, or law firm. We don't know your personal situation, and nothing here is individualized advice or an offer for any product. For decisions with real stakes, talk to a qualified professional.

How the site is supported

ClearCents is free to use. The site may display advertising, and some pages may include sponsored placements or referral links in the future. Advertising never changes what a guide says: editorial content and math come first, and we'll clearly label sponsored content if and when it appears.
